Friday Fun

It's Friday! Hooray to the start of another beautiful summer weekend! We've been busy crafting all week for a pair of kiddo parties - a balloon-themed 3 year old's bash today and a pinch of "Hooray" for a special little girl's 2nd birthday tomorrow. We can't wait to celebrate and eat cake (ok, we admit, we're super pumped about the prospect of cake, but celebrating the kids is almost as much fun ;-))!

While we were working on this week's parties, we started thinking aloud about some of the tips and tricks we've discovered while planning parties throughout the years. We know that party planning can be stressful, especially when it isn't something you do on a regular basis, but there are a few simple things you can do to help preserve your sanity. We're planning to share a tip or trick each Friday moving forward - please let us know if you have any specific questions/struggles we can help to address!

Preparation 

Party tip of the week: a lot of party planning and preparation can and should happen well in advance of your event so the day of the party is as stress-free as possible. If you make a list, set deadlines for each item, and stay on schedule, you'll arrive at the day of your party with only the tasks of setting up and decorating. Not that we speak from previous experience, but spending the night before an event trying to cram 3 days' worth of work into a few hurried hours may result in a person eating ice cream in the fetal position or drinking a glass (or 4) of wine and accidentally misspelling your child's name the birthday banner. Hypothetically, of course. 

Once you've come up with your general theme or party plan, sit down and make a list of all of the items you need to buy or make to complete your vision. Keep in mind that many items, especially anything customized or personalized, may need to be sourced online or special ordered, so making this list early and placing orders well in advance of the event will prevent you from paying rush shipping charges or having to breathe into a paper bag each time you check the mail, crossing your fingers and toes that the plates or straws or cupcake toppers have arrived.

And maybe it's just us, but we get all tingly each time we get to cross something off of our to do list. It's just so satisfying to make that little check mark or strike-through. Not as satisfying as wine or cake, but still a pretty great feeling.

Since officially launching Oh So Fancy, the number one question we've received is: what exactly is a Party in a Pinch? And is it only available to people in the Denver area?

Each box contains decor and tableware for a party of 12 guests. Having a larger gathering? No problem - you can add additional tableware via our "Extra Pinch" a la carte option or you can contact us and we'll create a personalized listing with everything you need. 

We've already put in the time scouring the web for the perfect set of items, ensuring that everything coordinates perfectly and looks beautiful together! Why waste your precious "spare" time (ha! does that even exist?) falling down the Internet rabbit hole when you can order one of these with a click of a button?

We each have two little ones and know, firsthand, how priceless our snippets of free time are and how time consuming it is to plan a Pinterest-worthy party! Let us do the work for you - it's our job and we love it!
