The Best Is Yet to Come

We hope you all had a great weekend! Ours were full of balloons, smiling kids, and cupcakes - we can't complain!

This week we wanted to stroll down memory lane to one of our first custom parties. A dear friend of ours wanted to throw a "the best is yet to come" themed 40th birthday party for her wonderful husband. We were thrilled to help her plan the perfect event to commemorate this milestone.

We absolutely loved the theme our friend selected - rather than making it an all black, over-the-hill theme, she wanted to celebrate her husband's life thus far while reminding him that age is simply a number and he's got a lot of years left to make even more of a mark on the world. Let's face it, forty is the new thirty!

For this event we were able to collaborate with a few local vendors, who we found to be personally charming and professionally outstanding. The flower arrangements were made by Somerset Floral Design and were absolutely stunning. Our hostess wanted the backyard barbecue to have a rustic chic feel, letting the flowers dictate that tone. These vases are so gorgeous and the votive candle holders provided quite the ambiance once the sun went down. We think Somerset Floral Design nailed it! We wish Elizabeth could provide flowers for every event we do (or provide weekly bouquets for our homes)! If you're local, we highly recommend her.

Have you ever walked into a party and your mouth starts watering immediately? The food smells so good you want to start eating everything right now. (Patience grasshopper, patience.) Well that's what happened at this party. The team at The Lazy Yeti provided an amazing spread of food that received rave reviews from the guests (and perhaps the party planners, after sneaking a few bites). If you're looking for Colorado smoked meats along with delicious side dishes, look no further. The slow roasted ribs, the smoked Gouda mac n' cheese, and the smoked trout crostini...yum. There it is. We've made ourselves hungry just thinking about these delicious bites! Laura and Anthony are a dynamic duo in the kitchen and a pleasure to work with.

Visit our Inspiration Gallery for additional shots from the party - enjoy the eye candy!
