Where does the time go? 5 years in an instant...

Hi Friends!

We're thinking warm thoughts for those of you in the midwest and northeast getting hammered with snow! Hopefully you'll escape with your power intact and maybe even get a snow day out of it (see this post for some ideas of things to do to make the most of it!)!

The weekend before last marked the 5th birthday of Sarah's older daughter. My son turns 5 next month. Both of us have been scratching our heads and wondering how 5 years have gone by so darn quickly. We both get slightly nostalgic when reminiscing about their infant years (until the flashbacks of sleepless nights and endless crying begin), but absolutely adore their current life stage - so curious, bright, funny, and kind. Despite our threats on days when it takes 48 minutes to get their shoes on and get in the car for preschool, we wouldn't trade them for anything!

Sorry for the slight tangent...where I was headed was a recap of Evelyn's 5th birthday, which also happens to be the debut of our new Pretty Pink Princess Pinch (say that 10 times fast)! It'll be up on the site in the next week or so, but we got to do a trial run when Evelyn requested a princess theme for her party decor. Thanks for being our guinea pig, E! ;-)

The party was held at a local shop that hosts craft workshops. Most of their workshops are really aimed at older kids or adults, but there was a cardboard castle option that fit the party theme perfectly. The kids had a blast and we loved the fact that they weren't getting pizza and frosting all over Sarah's house (did we ever tell you about the bright blue frosting from Evelyn's party last year that ended up ground into Sarah's wood floors and required hours of toothbrush action to get it out? Yeah...lesson learned about brightly colored frosting. We stick with good old white and chocolate 99.9% of the time after that joyful experience!).

Here are some photos of the party and some sneak peeks of our new Princess Pinch!
