Start a Pumpkin Carving Party Tradition 🎃

There are some traditions your kids just remember.

Pumpkin carving night is an easy one to start, and it doesn't have to be complicated!

Pick a night in October, grab a bunch of pumpkins, order pizza, put on a Halloween playlist and invite a few favorite people over. Do it again next year.

Boom. You have a tradition. 🎃

And since pumpkin carving is already messy, we fully support making everything else as easy as possible.

Set Up the Carving Table

First things first: protect the table!

Cover it with something disposable before a single pumpkin gets cut open. Pumpkin guts are part of the fun. Scrubbing dried pumpkin off the table afterward is not.

Give everyone a spot for their pumpkin and set carving tools, markers, stencils and a few big bowls around the table for seeds and scraps.

OH SO FANCY PICK: Add a disposable table cover and Halloween napkins to your setup. Easy cleanup wins every time!
*NOT SO FANCY TIP: Cut open black trash bags and drape on the table.  Makes clean up a breeze!

Make Dinner EASY 🍕

This is not the night for a complicated meal.

Order pizza. Put out chips. Add some fruit or veggies if you're feeling responsible. 😂

Serve everything on Halloween plates with festive napkins and cups.

It instantly makes the night feel like an event instead of everyone just standing around the kitchen cutting into pumpkins.

Don't Forget the Treats 🍬

You need something sweet!

Set out Halloween candy, cookies, cupcakes or a big bowl of popcorn for everyone to snack on while they carve.

Our Halloween baking cups are also perfect for cupcakes, but you can use them for small servings of candy, popcorn or snack mix too.

OH SO FANCY PICKS: Halloween baking cups, treat boxes, cocktail napkins and fun serving pieces.

Add a Few Decorations 🕷️

You do NOT need to decorate your entire house.

Hang a Halloween garland over the carving table, add a few balloons or scatter some spooky details around the food.

That's enough!

The pumpkins are going to become the decorations anyway.

OH SO FANCY PICKS: Halloween garlands, balloons and a few cute creepy crawlies.

Make Apple Cider for the Carvers 🍎

This is such an easy way to make the night feel extra special.

Serve warm apple cider while everyone carves. Add cinnamon sticks or cute stir sticks and pour it into lidded cups so everyone can walk around with it without worrying quite as much about spills.

And if friends are heading home afterward, make them another cup for the ride!

Have a Pumpkin Contest 🏆

Once everyone finishes, line up the pumpkins and light them up!

Come up with a few categories so everyone has a chance to win:

Funniest Pumpkin
Spookiest Pumpkin
Most Creative
Best Traditional Jack O' Lantern
Most Likely to Scare the Neighbors 😂

You can even let everyone secretly vote.

And don't forget the group picture with all the finished pumpkins!

Then Do It Again Next Year ❤️

That's the best part.

Take a picture every year. Make the same cider. Order the same pizza. Invite the grandparents, cousins, neighbors or family friends.

As the kids get older, the pumpkins will change. The people around the table might change. Someone will inevitably get way too competitive about the carving contest.

But they'll remember doing it.

And really, that's the whole point.
